58 Although myself, along with our company and stakeholders, have exclusively shopped at Epicurean until today, due to the incredibly disrespectful attitude displayed on August 23rd, 2023, we have decided never to return.
During my recent visit, I purchased several items and proceeded to the cashier's desk. I intended to pay using a combination of coins and paper money, with approximately 120 XCD in coins (mostly 1 XCD coins). When I inquired if it was acceptable to use coins as part of my payment, the cashier responded mockingly, stating that the supermarket wasn't a bank. I then questioned whether this applied to non-national coins, to which she provided no response. Requesting to speak with the manager, I was met with further resistance as the cashier attempted to usher me out of the store. This incident not only showed disrespect towards me but also exhibited a lack of regard for their own national currency. As a result, four prominent companies, including ours, have chosen to cease all future shopping at Epicurean.
Thursday evening at 5pm only 3 cashiers open with a lineup 5 deep at each one. Epicurean has no respect for their customers time.
Good place to do grocery shopping in St John's, Antigua. Nothing outstanding to mention however, except good parking. Deli counter and general customer service needs attention, staff seem not to bother at times. ATM service is a plus if you are in need of some cash. Love the way the lights come on automatically in the Frozen aisles section.
A big surprise that there is no sanitizing stations in the supermarket.
You do have to wash hands before entering however nothing to dry your hands with.
Some shelves have consistently been empty making it hard to source the necessary ingredients for some dishes I would love to prepare.
Produce and fresh foods are very good compared to other areas on the island. Some things are over priced and the security gaurds that follow you around detract from an enjoyable shopping experience. Go for the convenience and freshness not the customer service
Even though this is the only place on the island where variety of grocery items are available, I am giving three stars because of the quality. Shoppers have to be careful while buying because some times expired food are left on the shelves, other times there can be worms.
Huge store that has everything one would need. It rivals most US or UK markets, except there are some items that sell out and it may take a few weeks for them to replinish. They offer a good sushi and Chinese food take away counter, as well as some local fare, fried chicken and pizza by the slice. They often have fresh local veges and lettuce. The prices are a little higher than a mainland store but given you're on an island, I find them reasonable.
Epicurean Fine Foods & Pharmacy is Antigua’s largest and most extensive grocery store and pharmacy. Groceries for your family, hot food to go, beer and wine for your next beach party, or yacht provisioning.
Pretty much every thing you could want or need in a grocery and convenience store all in one. They also have prepared food if you don't want or can't cook, both local and asian.
As a yacht chef this is one of my favourite places to provision. The customer service is outstanding and the cashiers really help you out with packaging loading and unloading to get you through the check out smoothly. Thanks again to Ava and her colleagues who helped us resolve our credit card issue.
Easy to navigate. Lots of selection. Groceries are expensive but that is Antigua! Parking is easy with lots of space. Be sure to bring your own bags otherwise you will need to purchase some there.
Great selection of wines and spirits. Alternatively, more selection of various alcohols across the road with higher end options available.
Shelves are packed with a wide variety of foods from various parts of the world. There's even a deli clothing store and pharmacy. Lots of parking space. Similar to Walmart
Best supermarket in antigua at a single place- can get better price deals in some other super markets.
All you want is right here! From a large variety of fruits, foods, meats and fish to a deli of delicious dishes for breakfast lunch n dinner. They have clothing, small everyday household items, toys, baby and mommy needs, bathtowels, bath mats set for your bathroom, shower curtains and regular curtains for your house n kitchen, they have for pets too. All your prescription and over the counter meds.there is so much more and this is just a few I've mentioned. Come on over to see for yourself
Staff need customer service training but still good shop for 95% of groceries. 5% is arguable dependent on what you are looking for.lobster last time? Boo.out if season.fairs
Products are good and there's a wide variety but service needs improvement. Too few cashiers open. With this pandemic people need to get in and out, not having to wait longer in line than you took to get your purchases.
Let's just say there isn't anything you can't find here. The prices on the other hand? Definitely more expensive than the rest.
Well stocked store with a large variety of international products. They take masks seriously and require hand washing prior to entering the store. Staff is helpful.
Always a great place to shop here in Antigua and Barbuda. Great variety, spacious aisles and awesome customer service.
