My husband, his sister, brother in law and myself agree this is paradise. The hotel had such charm, amazing staff, excellent food and rooms.

The beach is wonderful. It's on the same strip with $andal$. The food is 85 percent the same everyday. The innerspring mattress destroyed my back. The people are wonderful. Nice place to stay if you want to spend all day and night on the beach and have very little use for a 5 star hotel or service.

This is where we stayed during the week of Christmas.
Our room wasn't the best one that's for sure. On our second last day the AC started to zonk out and we ended up with a mini flood. Not fun. We were told it would be taken care of- not so.
It took the management to send someone at the end of day towards the evening.
Service is not top notch. Servers in food areas were efficient and polite, a few people seemed a bit miserable but nevertheless it was suffice.
Food was good not too much to choose from but still good.
I do not think we will choose to stay here again, though l do want to say the resort is fairly close to main town and other attractions.

Absolutely fabulous place. Over the past seven years I have returned here. Staff are outstanding, very friendly and helpful. Food was great entertainment was great. Right on the beach. Water sports located a short stroll along the beach. I cant wait to return one day

Not the prettiest resort what so ever but staff are friendly once you get to know them shout outs to "Dave" (animation staff) hes one awesome guy

The resort has it own private beach, beautiful sea view. You have free 30 minutes kayak. Food is delicious and very good. I enjoy it very much. On Friday and Saturday have live band In the evening. It was amazing! It's more like family resort. The music will stop at 22.30 it would be nice if it could be a little bit longer. My room was OK. I have the room on the ground floor with pool view but my colleagues who got the room on the first floor where are not renovated yet. The rooms were not nice.unfortunately, I forgot to take picture of my room. Internet is very bad, no Internet in my room at all even my room was near lobby area. Only strong signal in the lobby and some signals next the beach bar.
Staffs at the beach bar and restaurant are very friendly but a gentleman staff at the reception was rude. So far, I have enjoy there. Its nice for a weekend break. You can take a boat trip to go around the island and snorkeling.

A gem if you want a 3 star hotel. Grounds very nice, small pool, fantastic beach. Looks like it is not a HOT tourist spot as there was only about 30 people on the beach. We just passed through and it looked nice.

You can't beat the beach and setting of this hotel. The building itself is a little run down but is due a big refurbishment soon. The staff are so lovely and the food is really good for an all inclusive. I've been visiting this hotel for 40 years and will keep going back.

The hotel needs some renovations but the beach is one of the best on the island. If you aren't fussy about the property and love the beach then Halcyon can work for you.

Revisiting after 18 years
Rooms a bit tired but due to close for refurb.in April. Staff very happy and helpful, food was good but not fancy. Setting is beautiful and holiday was good value for money. Looking forward to returning when re- open.

Resort is said to undergo a much needed refresh starting this year but there were two employees which really helped our travel group. David from activities and Fenton from guest services, without them it wouldn't have been as memorable.

I have been here for 3 weeks and just wanted to relay how friendly and helpful staff are.
Ladonna in guest services went out of her way to engage and encourage guests to partake In activities. She had a wealth of knowledge regarding the area and the history of the resort.

The housekeeping and kitchen staff where always happy to oblige customers requests, as witnessed by myself.
Although the resort is closing for renovations, I hope that many will be able to return to a new and improved holiday resort.

Just back from an amazing week of R&R vacation. Resort is definitely not a place to go if you’re looking for night life but for us it was exactly what we needed. The staff were always smiling and so helpful. Although there was only one A al carte the food was excellent. Rooms and resort are dated but we were told they’ll be closing in April 2020 for about 18 months to do renovations. Just a suggestion to management we along with many others would like to be notified of re opening. The beaches were so clean. Water was great. Thanks for making our week so enjoyable.

Terrible resort, it was so dirty. My room had beg bugs and when i reported it to the Manager Kevin he seemed not to care because actions weren't taken.

Clean place to sleep! 24hrs to get our toilet unblocked despite telling reception 3 times in 24 hrs. Heleen in the bar was often stressed and miserable - made life hell
for us holiday makers

An older resort which is a bit run down but everything else makes up for it.
Beautiful beach, greenery, location and lonely, friendly staff.

Don't fall for those 3.5 reviews - This place barely makes 1, and that is attributed to the beds.by a slim margin.

Some highlights:
- The shower and tub are RUSTED.
- Towels are never changed in the rooms
- weak/ non existant Wifi
- bedroom phone was not functional, asked the staff to replace it twice ; it wasn't.
- sinks across the hotel clog, asked the staff to unclog it; they didn't.
- STAFF is RUDE and make you feel bad to ask for food or drinks on top of anything else
- staff are checked out, as the place will be demolished in April. STARFISH is not concerned with upholding standards for paying guests in the meantime
- 30 minute line ups to get into breakfast and dinner buffet
- Servers never offer water, drinks, or coffee during service.
- Beach seaweed and rocks are never cleared from the sand
- Food is the same every day at breakfast and lunch, with a bland and limited assortment
- Food is only offered for Very limited times throughout the day
- No info regarding events, activities or emergency protocols, etc, are communicated
- No water bottles or ice machines
- No place to get or purchase snacks
- the grounds are never cleaned, there was been a dread lock by the pool for 5 days and counting
- pool is merky
- grounds are neglected and extremely unsightly

Come at your own risk, as you will suffer.

Sadly, its closing down at the end of April. I couldn't fault it, though others felt it a bit tired. It is after all, the Caribbean! No cockroaches! Clean rooms, no problem with the food. Helpful staff. All day bar. Beach A M A Z I N G!
