Hodges Bay

Beware! Cancelled our reservation for which we had received a reservation number, as well as an email from their reservations department confirming they were expecting us. Reason given for their cancellation: "there are no rooms available. " Perhaps they had another party that wanted to stay longer and so they gave our room away. Hard to say, and they wouldn't clarify.

This place is a scam! The owners bring IG influencers here for free to create hype about their hotel.

Cons- Hotel grounds unacceptable- Pool is slimy and has a slimy floor.
Water cuts off.
The owners son walks around the place and treats people horrendously.
Food takes hours to come due to poor staffing conditions.

My family and I paid for a 3 bedroom villa. We had issues with our water, the refrigerator (I lost all my breastmilk) for my baby. It literally turned into a nightmare. Please think twice about booking here. Until they change ownership I can’t see it getting any better.

Wouldnt recommend. Greeted by 1 of the owners, John, telling us about the amazing resort. Turned out to not be as great as he said. Restaurant food, not that great. Workers are very slow and don’t seem to care. Housekeeping always took our dirty towels but never gave us new. Shower has rain shower spout but no pressure. Takes 20 minutes just to get soap off you. Patio door was broken. Ivy growing all over the patio. 30 minutes every morning to get off resort towels. Pools were soo cold you couldn’t swim in them longer than 15 minutes or your teeth were chattering. No life at the resort. No music playing. 2 pools and a hot tub and my 3 year old was bored, since he couldn’t swim without being cold. Very disappointed, wouldn’t recommend.

Rooms are not clean and smell of humidity.

The location is beautiful, the hotel is okay, service is very poor, slow and not a 5 star, they do not know what a Espresso is, food is served late and cold.

For 475€ a night you can find very good hotels elsewhere, do not go.

For the record, I was not sleeping there, just a day pass. The resort itself is spectacular, well maintained, super clean, quite frankly stunning. However I have never seen worse service at a resort ever. Bartenders on their phones and chit chatting in the far corner away from the guests instead of pouring drinks. The cake topper for me was ordering food. We ordered from a good menu but when the food was ready we were asked to go pick it up ourselves. We asked if the food could delivered to the bar area where our group and was told no. We had to go back to the main building grab the food and bring it down ourselves. I know it's not the end of the world but would have expected more.

Room had almost no furnishings and a leaking sink. The pull out sofa collapsed when one slim adult sat on it.and they said "we will get to it in the morning " Where will this person sleep tonight? ! No response. For the price the rooms are sub par. Nice pools. Friendly staff overall. But management is poor.made so many promises and did not deliver.

Beautiful resort from the outside, spectacular entrance and pool area. The 2 pools: 1 for kids and 1 for adult near the beach and a bar. The beach is super nice. The rooms are ok they need a little touch up. There s rust on the cupboards, draws don’t close properly, vent in the bathroom is super loud. Amenities are poor for a 5*. Beds are comfy that’s a plus. Food at the restaurant wasn’t great, didn’t feel fresh but reheated. Breakfast was ok. The overall decor and furniture is nice and the staff is friendly. However upon check in I wasn’t explained anything about the hotel, restaurants, times for breakie or lunch and dinner. The second day was better with friendly staff helping me around. The spa was super nice. Reception staff was helpful and I got to have my room till 4pm on my last day. Overall a good stay but a little overpriced for the quality of rooms and food.

Unfortunately, this place is not worth the attention it gets. At first glance, the hotel looks nice until you start seeing dust, rust and things falling apart. We had mixed feelings about the restaurant. The appetisers were good. The main course was bland, the fish overcooked and the seafood wasn't edible. After 3 bites I returned the platter and got charged the full amount.

The service personnel is very friendly and kind but won't make up for this sad experience.

Book a table for 2 for my 10 year anniversary at NacI 4 days before my anniversary. Reservation confirm and time set. Get to the property the gate man isn't to happy to open the gate it seems like first bad sign, get to the front desk and ask for direction she tell me the resturant is booked for a private event. I explained this can't be so because I have a reservation and show her my booking. Anyway she recommends Sands at first it's more a casual type a feel I was looking forward to a steak. That wasn't on the menu, fine am easing going trying to have a great time with the wife. Apps were ok the main course was good. So there no dessert on the menu which I was fine with but the waiter said because of the mix up we will give you dessert I indicated am full from my 2 courses and a bottle of champagne so thank but am good. She said you can take them with you so I said fine I'll take mine to my kid at home and bring the bill. Before I pay my bill I saw she charge for the dessert so I ask why are you charging me for the dessert that I said I didn't want. Which you also said was complimentary, now your charging me? She said they can't give you 2 free dessert so we have to charge for one!

We didn't come there looking for anything for free but you cheated us out of 13 us like we wouldn't have tip you 40 us.i paid my bill and left the dessert in the parking lot.

Resort are beautiful but we only allow in the restaurant by the beach, wasn’t impressed by the food at all and over priced

This property is stil under construction. And its beach is plagued with seaweed. I only gave two stars because you can be sheltered there and take a shower.

I had a great stay at Hodges Bay. The property is beautiful and well maintained; especially the landscaping. Dee Dee does a fabulous job with the plants and flowers. The restaurant and bar staff are friendly, helpful and always have a smile on their face. I enjoyed meeting Mrs. Evans who assured that I had everything I needed.

The front office, especially Jean-Marie, Coniah and Cleezy, were very pleasant and helpful! I shared that I was celebrating my birthday and Jean-Marie made sure to send a special birthday plate of treats to my room! I would recommend Hodges Bay to my friends.

I'd love to see a more diverse representation of tourists and travelers on the social media pages. The current content does not fully display the diversity and beauty of visitors and guests at Hodges Bay.

Good vybz and Captain Marcus of MoreLife Boat tours is a Plus. He had the environment really cheerful.

I stayed here on my trip to Antigua and it was very nice. The rooms had very nice amenities within them and the resort itself is quick large. There are 2 pools and a waterside jacuzzi. There is a private beach and island you can boat over to. The food at the two restaurants are prepared fresh and very good. I will say the service there is fairly slow. I had one incident while at the resort but the manager was kind enough to explain the confusion and apologize. Hodges Bay was a tremendous stay, I really did enjoy it and would go back.

Not exactly 5 star but the staff tried very hard to do everything they could to please. At £700 a night I have stayed at the Savoy on the Strand London for less

Beautiful resort, i stayed here with some friends and we had soo much fun. They got 4 stars because our food took forever to arrive but the food was good would definitely visit again another time.

Gorgeous resort. The food was great but the menu was very limited. Our waitress was very kind and professional. The wait time for our meal was fast. It was my friend’s birthday and to have a surprise of a cake for my friend was actually very thoughtful of the waitress. We sat by the water so that we could enjoy the calm scenery.

Had dinner at the fine dining restaurant; the food was good but maybe a little over priced. However, the excellent customer service given the power issues made up for the cost. Overall a good experience. Would go again and recommend it as well

Great views. Great service. Great location.
The only reason I would not yet give it a 5 is because it is a brand new property and they are still working out a few glitches. Snapper could have been better. However, all restaurant personnel were extremely professional and helpful. Rooms are large and spacious. Very quiet. Staff member by the name of Romane was always helpful and courteous. Definately a place to return. A new favorite spot on the islands North Coast.

The food and the staff was great. Except for 1 supervisor in the palm restaurant who never greeted and passed us everyday for 3 days. Yet all the white people was greeted, the rooms are lovely. Just wish it had more activities to do. The manager over the place if very friendly and easy to talk to he made sure everyone felt comfortable.
