Hodges Bay

My wife and I stayed here 4 nights on vacation and it was perfect. The rooms were clean and spacious. The service was great, professional and kind. The whole experience was hassle free from checking in, checking out and paying, to ordering taxis around the island and back to the airport.

The best part was the location. The beachfront is gorgeous and so tranquil. The pools are nice and have incredible views. They also have a private island called prickly pear with free transfers from the lodge. The island is out of a movie. The waters are crystal clear, the bar has great food and drinks, and the beach is dazzlingly white. We spent two days just enjoying the island a world away from the busyness of normal life! Would definitely recommend!

Visited on a day pass before a night flight. $80 USD gets you pool and beach access, and spa quality changing facilities with toiletries. Would return and stay over night as looks like a great hotel. Food and drinks, and service, from the pool bar and all front desk staff were excellent. It looks like there is a speedboat to the island but we didn’t try it.

Wouldnt recommend. Greeted by 1 of the owners, John, telling us about the amazing resort. Turned out to not be as great as he said. Restaurant food, not that great. Workers are very slow and don’t seem to care. Housekeeping always took our dirty towels but never gave us new. Shower has rain shower spout but no pressure. Takes 20 minutes just to get soap off you. Patio door was broken. Ivy growing all over the patio. 30 minutes every morning to get off resort towels. Pools were soo cold you couldn’t swim in them longer than 15 minutes or your teeth were chattering. No life at the resort. No music playing. 2 pools and a hot tub and my 3 year old was bored, since he couldn’t swim without being cold. Very disappointed, wouldn’t recommend.

I had a great stay at Hodges Bay. The property is beautiful and well maintained; especially the landscaping. Dee Dee does a fabulous job with the plants and flowers. The restaurant and bar staff are friendly, helpful and always have a smile on their face. I enjoyed meeting Mrs. Evans who assured that I had everything I needed.

The front office, especially Jean-Marie, Coniah and Cleezy, were very pleasant and helpful! I shared that I was celebrating my birthday and Jean-Marie made sure to send a special birthday plate of treats to my room! I would recommend Hodges Bay to my friends.

I'd love to see a more diverse representation of tourists and travelers on the social media pages. The current content does not fully display the diversity and beauty of visitors and guests at Hodges Bay.

Probably one of the best resorts on the island if you're looking for somewhere that's not crowded. I would recommend eating outside the resort because the restaurant there is quite expensive. Le bistro is only a short walk away and is a great option. If you go you must go out to their island and bring scuba gear because there are many amazing reefs just off shore.

This place is spectacular! Service and staff is amazing! Access to private island (Prickly Pear). Underrated… should be a 5 star! No need to travel further into the island for a 5star view and service.

Just book it! Beautiful property with its own Private Island to visit. Ideal location and close to the airport. Good food, great service, great staff and beautiful room! Oh and the Children's Club was sooo good to my daughter- she loved it and even requested to go back the next day.

Rooms are not clean and smell of humidity.

The location is beautiful, the hotel is okay, service is very poor, slow and not a 5 star, they do not know what a Espresso is, food is served late and cold.

For 475€ a night you can find very good hotels elsewhere, do not go.

We just had our destination wedding here and it exceeded all of our expectations! The staff is amazing! The food is delicious! And the place is spectacular!

For the record, I was not sleeping there, just a day pass. The resort itself is spectacular, well maintained, super clean, quite frankly stunning. However I have never seen worse service at a resort ever. Bartenders on their phones and chit chatting in the far corner away from the guests instead of pouring drinks. The cake topper for me was ordering food. We ordered from a good menu but when the food was ready we were asked to go pick it up ourselves. We asked if the food could delivered to the bar area where our group and was told no. We had to go back to the main building grab the food and bring it down ourselves. I know it's not the end of the world but would have expected more.

This resort is perfect for so many occasions, but especially celebrations. The design feels new and modern, and everything from the artwork to the layout of the property exudes cool.

Very beautiful resort wonderful staff. Would highly recommend this utopia to anyone coming to Antigua.

We were on the grounds for only an hour so we didn't see a room but the grounds were beautiful and the cocktails and service was great. We look forward to visiting in the future!

This hotel should be rated higher. Yes, some reviews here are true — the shower takes some time to heat up, and there’s some rusty spots in random parts of the hotel. But that’s so small in comparison to the good parts. Like, there’s a tiny boat that transports guests all day to a small private island called Prickly Pear, which truly puts you in paradise. And a heated infinity pool at night. And high quality tennis courts. Solid gym. Great breakfast. Great cocktails. And a beautiful, relaxing nighttime setting with tiki torches set up all around the hotel grounds to ward off mosquitoes. The prices are reasonable for rooms, drinks etc. Ultimately, I’d stay here again and recommend to friends.

Room had almost no furnishings and a leaking sink. The pull out sofa collapsed when one slim adult sat on it.and they said "we will get to it in the morning " Where will this person sleep tonight? ! No response. For the price the rooms are sub par. Nice pools. Friendly staff overall. But management is poor.made so many promises and did not deliver.

I love Hodges Bay, Antigua! The rooms are beautiful, the staff is friendly and the food is delicious. I can’t wait to come back ️

Beware! Cancelled our reservation for which we had received a reservation number, as well as an email from their reservations department confirming they were expecting us. Reason given for their cancellation: "there are no rooms available. " Perhaps they had another party that wanted to stay longer and so they gave our room away. Hard to say, and they wouldn't clarify.

I stayed here on my trip to Antigua and it was very nice. The rooms had very nice amenities within them and the resort itself is quick large. There are 2 pools and a waterside jacuzzi. There is a private beach and island you can boat over to. The food at the two restaurants are prepared fresh and very good. I will say the service there is fairly slow. I had one incident while at the resort but the manager was kind enough to explain the confusion and apologize. Hodges Bay was a tremendous stay, I really did enjoy it and would go back.
